The Instagram comment exporter built for businesses, agencies and research teams
Agencies, brands and research teams need more from a comment exporter than a spreadsheet: an invoice accounting will accept, a tool that never touches the client's Instagram login, exports that hold up as records, and a price that doesn't balloon on a viral post. IGComments was built around those four things.
An invoice in your company’s name, in seconds
The most common message we get from business customers arrives the day after they paid: can you send an invoice with our company name and VAT number? A card receipt in an employee's name does not clear an expense report in most countries, so the invoice is part of the product, and deliberately after checkout rather than in it: paying stays one step, and the paperwork takes thirty seconds when you need it.
- Pay for an Export Pass through Stripe Checkout as usual. Nothing extra to fill in.
- On your export page, open Invoice and enter the legal company name, country, tax ID and address. Any national tax ID works: EU VAT, UK VAT, Spanish NIF, Mexican RFC, Brazilian CNPJ, Argentine CUIT, Australian ABN, Canadian GST/HST, Indian GST, Saudi and UAE VAT, US EIN and the rest. Where Stripe knows the format it prints in the invoice header; elsewhere it is printed as a line on the invoice.
- A numbered PDF invoice, marked paid against your card payment and in the language of your export (English, Spanish or Portuguese), is ready in a few seconds and stays linked on the export page. Typo? Change the details and a corrected invoice is issued; the old one is credited so nothing is counted twice.
No charge, no checkbox to remember. For anything unusual, a purchase order number, a W-9 for a US vendor file, write to hello@igcomments.com. IGComments is operated by CGHM Associates LLC, a US company; prices are in US dollars.
No Instagram login, so nothing to clear with security
IGComments reads what any logged-out visitor can see on a public post: the comments, replies, usernames, @mentions, hashtags and timestamps. There is no place to enter an Instagram password, no Meta permission to grant and nothing to revoke later. For an agency that means you never hold a client credential to do this job, and you can export comments from a client’s post, a competitor’s post or a partner’s collab post with nothing but the link.
The flip side is honest: private accounts can’t be exported, and comments Instagram hides from everyone (spam-filtered, hidden-word filtered, from restricted or deleted accounts) are not retrievable by any tool. We show Instagram’s displayed count next to what was actually available and flag large gaps. Details: why the comment count doesn’t match.
Exports that work as records
Each export is a snapshot with a timestamp. Every row carries the comment ID, the user ID, the username, the full text, the posting time in UTC, likes, whether it is a reply and which comment it answers, and the @mentions and #hashtags it contains. You get the same data as CSV (UTF-8 with BOM, so it opens cleanly in Excel), native Excel (XLSX) and JSON, and you can filter first and export only the rows you need: questions, replies, one row per person, a date range, a keyword.
Typical business uses: documenting the entrant list of a giveaway before the draw (see exporting giveaway comments), collecting customer questions and objections under a launch post, building a UGC or influencer shortlist from who commented, moderation evidence, and academic or market research on public discourse. The analyzer gives unique commenters, most active commenters, most-mentioned accounts, top hashtags and words without leaving the page.
Pricing that stays flat on a viral post
Posts up to 200 comments are free, with no account. Larger posts use a one-time Export Pass priced by the post's size, shown before you pay. Nothing renews.
| Comments on the post | Price (one-time) |
|---|---|
| Up to 200 | Free |
| Up to 2,000 | $4.99 |
| Up to 10,000 | $7.99 |
| Up to 30,000 | $9.99 |
| Up to 100,000 | $14.99 |
| 500,000 | $315 |
| 1,000,000 | $690 |
Posts above 100,000 comments are collected in the background over one to three days with live progress and an email when the file is ready. Per-result developer APIs charge roughly $1.50–2.60 per 1,000 comments for the same job, so a 500,000-comment post costs several times more there; the comparison is in Instagram comment export tools compared.
Data handling
Exports are stored for 30 days so you can re-download them in any format, then deleted. We export public comment data only: no emails, follower counts or display names. Commenters are never contacted or profiled, and a commenter who asks to be removed from a stored export is removed. Card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. Whether a given use of exported comments is appropriate depends on your purpose and jurisdiction; is it legal to export Instagram comments walks through the usual cases, and is not legal advice.
When another tool fits better
- You need scheduled, recurring exports across many posts or an API. IGComments is one post at a time by hand; a developer platform such as Apify suits a pipeline (comparison).
- You need data other than comments (profiles, followers, posts). IGComments exports comments only.
- You need to pick a giveaway winner. That is our sister tool Pickfetti, with the same no-login approach, a public proof page and the same invoice option after payment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get an invoice with my company name and VAT number?
Yes, free. After paying, open Invoice on your export page and enter the legal name, country, tax ID and address; a numbered PDF invoice is ready in seconds and stays linked there. Any country; details can be corrected and the invoice reissued.
Does IGComments need the brand’s Instagram login?
No. It reads public comments on public posts and never asks for a password or Meta permission, so you never hold a client credential for this job.
Can I export comments from a client’s or a competitor’s post?
Yes, any public post or Reel, with nothing but the link.
How big a post can you export?
Up to 2,000,000 comments. Posts above 100,000 are collected in the background over one to three days and emailed when ready.
Is there a subscription or a per-seat price?
No. Posts up to 200 comments are free, larger posts are a one-time Export Pass from $4.99, and anyone on your team can use the same export link.
Do you charge VAT or sales tax?
No. Prices are in USD and tax-exclusive; the invoice carries your tax ID so your accountant can apply reverse charge where it applies. This is not tax advice.
