Instagram Comment Exporter
Paste a post or Reel link and download every comment as a spreadsheet: usernames, comment text, timestamps, likes and who each reply was answering. Free up to 200 comments, no account, no browser extension.
How to export comments from an Instagram post
- Copy the link. On the post or Reel, tap Share (the paper-plane icon) → Copy link. On a computer, copy the address bar.
- Paste it above and press Get comments. We read the public comments — you never log in to Instagram or give us a password.
- Download. Choose CSV, Excel or JSON. Want a subset? Search, filter (replies only, comments with @mentions, questions, a date range) or keep one comment per person, then export exactly those rows.
Small posts are ready in seconds. Posts with tens of thousands of comments take a few minutes; you can close the tab and come back to the same link, or leave your email and we’ll send it when it’s done.
What’s in the export
One row per comment, with the columns people actually use:
| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| username | The commenter’s Instagram handle |
| comment | The full comment text, emoji and accents intact |
| posted_at_utc | When it was posted (UTC) |
| likes | Likes on that comment |
| is_reply · reply_to_username · reply_to_comment_id | Whether it’s a reply, and to whom — so threads stay readable |
| mentions · hashtags | Every @account and #hashtag in the comment, pulled out for you |
| comment_id · user_id | Instagram’s IDs, for de-duplicating or joining with other data |
The CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, so Excel opens it with emoji and non-English characters intact instead of garbling them.
Replies included — not just top-level comments
A lot of comment exporters quietly drop replies, which on a busy post can be a third of the conversation. IGComments fetches reply threads too and marks each one with the comment it answers. If you only want top-level comments, filter them in one click before exporting.
Free up to 200 comments, then a one-time pass
Most exporters stop at 100 comments on the free plan. We give you 200. Bigger post? You still see the first 200 comments straight away — search them, check the stats — and a one-time Export Pass unlocks the rest:
- $4.99 — up to 10,000 comments
- $9.99 — up to 30,000 comments
- $14.99 — up to 100,000 comments
No subscription and nothing renews. You pay once for the post you need. See pricing.
Search, filter and analyze before you export
Once the comments are in, you don’t have to open a spreadsheet to answer the obvious questions. Search for a word or @username, show only replies or only questions, keep one comment per person, and see the stats: unique commenters, the most active people, most-mentioned accounts, top hashtags and words, and comments per day. Then export exactly the rows you filtered.
Who uses an Instagram comment exporter
- Giveaway hosts checking entries, or keeping a record of who entered. (To pick the winner itself, use our sister tool Pickfetti.)
- Brands and agencies pulling feedback, questions and leads off a launch post or ad for a report.
- Creators collecting answers to a question they asked in the caption.
- Researchers and students who need the raw text in a spreadsheet or JSON for coding and analysis.
Public posts only — and no login, ever
IGComments reads comments that anyone can already see on a public post or Reel. We never ask for your Instagram password, we can’t read private accounts, and nothing is posted on your behalf. Exports are kept for 30 days so you can come back and download again, then deleted. Read the privacy policy.
Frequently asked questions
Is this Instagram comment exporter really free?
Yes — every post with up to 200 comments exports for free, in every format, with no account. Larger posts show the first 200 comments free and need a one-time Export Pass for the rest.
Do I need to log in to Instagram?
No. You paste a link to a public post or Reel; we never ask for your Instagram login and nothing is posted to your account.
Can I export comments from a Reel?
Yes. Reels, carousels and regular posts all work the same way — paste the link.
Are replies to comments included?
Yes. Replies are fetched and marked with the username and comment ID they answer. You can filter them out if you only want top-level comments.
Why does Instagram show more comments than I exported?
Instagram’s count includes comments it hides from everyone — spam-filtered, hidden-word, restricted and deleted comments — which no tool can download. If the gap is large we say so on the results page.
Can I export comments from a private account?
No. Only public posts can be exported; private accounts’ comments aren’t visible without being a follower.
Which formats can I download?
CSV (opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers), Excel XLSX, and JSON for developers and data tools.
