Instagram Comment Scraper Without the Code
Get the comments off a public Instagram post or Reel without writing a script, renting proxies or risking an account. Paste the link and download a clean CSV, Excel or JSON file. Free up to 200 comments.
What the usual scraping routes cost you
If you search for how to scrape Instagram comments, you’ll find three kinds of advice, and each comes with overhead:
- Python scripts and open-source libraries. They work until Instagram changes something, then they don’t. Most need you to log in with an account, and accounts used for scraping get rate-limited, challenged or disabled. You end up maintaining a burner account and a script instead of reading comments.
- Cloud scraping platforms such as Apify. Capable and flexible, but you configure an actor, manage usage credits, and get raw JSON that still needs cleaning before anyone can open it in a spreadsheet.
- Browser extensions. They scroll the page in your own logged-in session, which ties the job to your personal account and to how many comments the page will load before it stalls.
For a one-off job — one post, one spreadsheet — that is a lot of machinery.
The no-code version
IGComments does the fetching for you. You paste a public post or Reel link; we collect every visible comment and reply and give you a finished file. There is nothing to install and nothing to configure:
- No Instagram login, no password, no session cookies.
- No proxies or rotating IPs to rent.
- No API keys or developer account.
- No risk to your own account, because your account is never used.
The output is already tidy: one row per comment with comment_id, username, user_id, comment, posted_at_utc, likes, is_reply, reply_to_comment_id, reply_to_username, and the mentions and hashtags extracted into their own columns. Download it as CSV, Excel, or JSON if it’s going into a notebook or pipeline.

What it isn’t
To be straightforward about the limits: IGComments is a per-post, on-demand tool. You give it one link and get that post’s comments. It is not a bulk crawler — it won’t walk an entire profile, follow a hashtag, or monitor accounts on a schedule — and there is no public API for automating it. It also can’t read private accounts, and it doesn’t collect profile data: no display names, follower counts, bios or email addresses.
If you need thousands of posts a day or continuous monitoring, a developer platform or a properly built scraper is the right tool. If you need the comments from a specific post, or a handful of posts, in a usable file today, this is faster than setting either up.
Use scraped comments responsibly
Public comments are public, but the people who wrote them didn’t sign up to be on a marketing list. A few ground rules:
- Use the data for the purpose you collected it — research, reporting, moderation, verifying a giveaway.
- Don’t spam commenters with mass DMs or tags pulled from an export.
- Honour deletion requests. If someone asks to be removed from a dataset you hold, remove them.
- Store exports sensibly and delete them when you no longer need them. Ours are kept for 30 days and then deleted; see the privacy policy.
If you’re collecting comments for academic work, check your institution’s ethics requirements for social media data before you start.
Pricing

No credits, no subscription. See pricing. IGComments is independent and not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.
Frequently asked questions
Can I scrape Instagram comments without coding?
Yes. Paste a public post or Reel link into IGComments and download the comments as CSV, Excel or JSON. No scripts, proxies or API keys are involved.
Do I need to log in to Instagram to scrape comments?
No. Your Instagram account is never used, so there is no risk of it being rate-limited or disabled.
Can I scrape comments from many posts or a whole profile at once?
No. IGComments works one post at a time, on demand. It is not a bulk crawler and has no public API. For large-scale collection, use a developer platform.
Does it scrape replies too?
Yes. Replies are included and each one carries reply_to_username and reply_to_comment_id so threads can be rebuilt.
Can I scrape commenters’ emails or follower counts?
No. The export contains comment data only: username, user ID, text, timestamp, likes, reply details, mentions and hashtags. No profile data is collected.
Can I scrape comments from a private account?
No. Only public posts and Reels can be read.
Is scraping Instagram comments allowed?
IGComments only reads comments that are already publicly visible. How you use the data is up to you; use it for legitimate purposes, don’t spam commenters, and follow the privacy laws that apply to you.
